 Mitsubishi Articulate Robots

Mitsubishi is one of the leading manufacturers of small robots. It offers a full range of articulated-arm robots with 5 and 6 degrees of freedom for all kinds of handling tasks with payloads from 1 to 12kg. The individual joints and axes of these articulate robots are powered by high-precision AC servo motors coupled with play free harmonic drive gears. Absolute position encoders are fitted to every motor, saving time by enabling the robot to start work as soon as it is powered up.

The Mitsubishi's articulate robot is compact. The installation footprint is smaller than A5 sheet of paper with the repeatability of +/-0.005mm and a cycle period of 0.28s. These robots are ideal for handling precision components in industrial manufacturing applications and for daisy-chaining production machines.

Component handling can be performed with a single electric gripper or up to two pneumatic grippers depending on the task at hand. Gripper force is continuously adjustable, making it possible to handle even fragile items safely and securely.
Other features highlights here include:
  • Connect to any image processing system.;
  • Control of up to 8 additional axes;
  • High speed communication via an Ethernet link;
  • Pre-installed pneumatic hoses in the robot arm make connection of the compressed air for the grippers quick and easy;
  • Automatic conveyor belt tracking;
  • Crash detection without sensors: The sensor-less collision prevention system immediately switches off the robot as soon as any non-typical load is registered;
  • The robots are controlled by the multitasking controllers;
  • Individual axis torque monitoring;
  • IP65 protection rating (axes 4-6): An IP65 protection rating provides the capabilities needed for heavy duty applications, like those in the motor industry suppliers sector;
