Fischertechnik Profi E-Tec (Fischertechnik Part #: 91083). With step by step instructions, the students learn about electric circuits, electromechanics and electronic controls extensively by building and experimenting the Profi E-Tec. For examples: How does an electrical circuit work? What are relays, photo transistors and reed contacts? The principle of series connection and parallel connection, controlling a traffic light with a controller drum, the principle of a pole reversal using functional models and so on. There is a switch block with four 'mini' sliding switches (these switches are known as 'DIP switches'). These four switches can be used to select the 8 stored programmes. The E-TEC scans the switch positions and then knows which programme should be implemented, like a burglar alarm with a buzzer, a hand dryer with a light barrier or a garage door with a magnetic sensor. In addition, kids can control via the three inputs - a probe, phototransistor and reed contact.
