 Introduction

3 Legged Robot Structure
Buy robix robot kit
  • Objective: The robot lies down and kicks its feet, then draws its legs together to stand up, walks forward, and finally stands on its hind legs and reaches for the sky.
  • Parts:
    • Robix Rascal Robot Kit/Construction Set
    • 3 pink erasers, Eberhard-Faber #100 "Pink Pearl" erasers, made in USA. If not available, a similar eraser may be used, and may have to be cut to fit tightly into the end of the robot links.
  • To learn: The three-legged construction actually has two feet on each leg and does a shuffling walk forward and backward, turning as it goes if desired. It even manages to walk across its own cabling without tripping.
Please follow the manual of the Robix Rascal Robot kit when you build your own 3 Legged Robot.

The circular black "feet" are nylon glides which slide easily. The other "feet" end in pink erasers which grip the table surface. The erasers press into the ends of the robot links, while the second servo on each leg is clamped into the middle link.

At the end of the 3-link the circular plastic glide is attached. These glides are white nylon, and have a screw, washer, and wing nut to hold them in place in the last hole of the link.
